Holiday Break
Now I love breaks from school like everyone else. I think it has been a great opportunity for me to work on quilts, clean, organize, and read. I am excited for Zeph and I to get a home in the future so I have a lot more to clean and organize. I think I should be a part of the the house makeover. I get and excited high when I reorganize and recreate sanity when their is a bunch of stuff and a small space. The funniest thing that has ever happed to us when it came to me recreating organization was when I decided that our food storage needed a makeover. We keep in in our closet in our spare room. It use to be in boxes on the floor. I just finally said, "Enough is ENOUGH." However, I am very money minded and I decided to get a plastic shelf. I thought this through just like our human bodies I put all the large cans on the bottom. Then the smaller items on the top. See Zeph is really great at helping me but when I get really fanatical he steps back and waits to see what is going to really happen. Well, it just so happened to be one of those organizational moments. I had spent at least two hours on this project. As, I put the final object on the top the plastic started to quiver.....and shake like jello. So , I did what any normal person would do, I tried to hold up the shelf and yelled for Zeph to come. Instead the shelf fell in half, I help up half of all the cans and cans all around me. Zeph eventually showed up and laughed.....and then asked, " Why would you buy a plastic shelf for all of this weight? How much does it support per shelf?" Well, it only supported 20 lbs per shelf. Clearly I reached maximum capacity. Nevertheless, I realized that Zeph was a manditory part of this process. We returned the shelf and got a metal shelf. First shelf = $20, Time spent = 2 hours, Time spent cleaning = 2 hours, New shelf = $ 60 dollars, Time spent re-shelfing and buying new shelf = 4 hours, Watching the shelf quiver and Zeph laugh = priceless.
